RAINFOREST2011 is the International Year of Forests. To celebrate this, Caricature and the Danish environmental organization Forests of the World (Verdens Skove) have made this digital exhibition. Can you imagine a future without the rainforest? For many people the answer is probably yes, if we are honest. The rainforest isn't something most people see very often - if ever - even today. Yet even from far away its disappearance is affecting our lives. Rainforest destruction is the second largest cause of climate change today. The rainforest is home to a wealth of food varieties, medicine, and biodiversity, as well as millions of people and thousands of languages and cultures. When it is gone, we will notice. We hope that the drawings here will provoke us all to take a new look at the many ways in which the rainforest keeps us alive. HUMAN RIGTHSDanish and Norwegian cartoonists pays homage to the European Convention for Human Rights with new drawings throughout 2011. Join the debate! The Right 2 Be: Human Rights and Human Wrongs is a project dedicated to communicating human rights to the people for the people by the people. It is a tribute to the right to be. The right to be human. The right to be you. Whoever, however, wherever you are. These rights are implicitly protected in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in the European Convention on Human Rights and in other legal documents. We want to make them alive. Give them motion. Translate them into what they are really all about in our everyday life. The project will bring light on how they are enjoyed and how they are violated. |
A minor correction to the fact
The North Pole is not melting. Can happen that the icecap on the North Pole is melting, a different matter. I strongly support the idea of an Arc made expecially for the polar bears. Let them all come to COP15 and join the climate party. They will have a sad story to tell.
Keep all those cards and letters coming
